HVAC Maintenance Technician

Position Overview: We are seeking a maintenance technician. The ideal candidate will be in training to perform maintenance on HVAC systems in both residential and commercial settings. Will also perform light repairs and be in training to repair systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair services performed
- Must be able to communicate in detail by staying in touch with dispatch, supervisors, and customers regarding each job
- Must have good driving record, driver’s license and ability to safely drive company vehicle once training is complete.
- Have or be willing to obtain a Current EPA card
- Willingness and ability to learn and assist with all aspects of the HVAC industry, especially during maintenance off-seasons
- Knowledge and ability to perform system commissioning and start-ups
- 3 to 5 years of experience in HVAC service

Lead HVAC Installer Position at Colegate Heating in Nunn, CO
Experience: 5+ years in HVAC installation

Position Overview:
We are looking for a reliable and skilled Lead HVAC Installer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing HVAC installations, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and leading a team of installers.
- Manage and execute HVAC installation projects from start to finish.
- Adhere to safety and regulatory standards at all times.
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues as they arise.
- Perform installation of HVAC related equipment following company policies and manufacturer’s specifications.
- Pre-measure jobs to determine correct sheet metal needed.
- Design, fabricate and install various ducts and duct fittings as required
- Proficient mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate all necessary tools and equipment.
- Perform start-ups on air conditioning and heating systems and other components.
- Provide excellent customer service and sustain high levels of customer satisfaction by effectively communicating with customers regarding questions and concerns.
- Complete all paperwork in a neat, accurate, thorough and timely manner.
- Maintain communication with dispatch, management, parts and installation teams.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC installation commercial & residential.
- Must have Valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles.
- Must have own tools, certain tools will be assigned from company as needed.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, tools, and installation techniques.

HVAC Retrofit Installer

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Retrofit Installer to join our team. This position is ideal for a skilled installer with strong troubleshooting abilities and experience completing residential and light commercial retrofit replacements. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, and able to complete high-quality installations while delivering excellent customer service.
This role requires a minimum of 5+ years of HVAC installation experience, a strong understanding of current HVAC codes and best practices, and a commitment to ongoing training, including NATE certification and new technology education.
- Remove and replace residential HVAC equipment including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini splits, and air handlers
- Install ductwork modifications, flue piping, line sets, condensate drains, and ventilation systems as needed
- Ensure all installations meet manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company quality standards
- Perform start-up procedures and confirm system performance (airflow, static pressure, refrigerant charge, combustion analysis if applicable)
- Accurately complete installation paperwork, job notes, and equipment documentation
- Maintain a clean, organized job site and follow safety standards at all times
- Communicate professionally with homeowners and team members
- Train and assist apprentices/helpers when needed
- Work efficiently while maintaining high workmanship standards
- Participate in ongoing training for HVAC advancements, energy-efficient equipment, and new technologyRe
- 5+ years HVAC installation / retrofit experience (required)
- EPA Certification (Universal preferred)
- HVAC certification education or trade school training required
- Strong knowledge of: Residential furnace and AC replacements, Heat pump installs, Airflow and duct design fundamentals, Refrigerant charging and recovery procedures, Electrical wiring and low voltage controls
- Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Must pass a background check
- Must be able to work overtime, including occasional evenings and weekends
- Ability to work independently and complete installs from start to finish
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- NATE Certification or willingness to obtain
- Experience installing: High-efficiency furnaces and boilers, Variable speed systems, Mini-split systems, Smart thermostats and zoning systems, IAQ products (humidifiers, air cleaners, UV lights, ventilation systems),
- Experience with new HVAC technology and diagnostic tools
- Leadership experience or ability to lead a retrofit crew
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with local mechanical codes, NEC basics, and permit requirements
- Must supply basic hand tools (company may provide specialty tools)
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work in crawl spaces, attics, rooftops, and confined areas
- Ability to climb ladders and work in varying weather conditions
- Professional appearance and behavior while representing the company
- Ability to use mobile apps/tablets for job documentation (preferred)
